The Judicial Information Research System 〈JIRS〉
The Practice Development Committee is hosting this seminar as an introduction to the Judicial Information Research System or JIRS.
JIRS is a database of extensive, interconnected and hyperlinked resources concerning criminal law and the criminal justice system. Significantly, JIRS includes quantitative reference material in the form of comprehensive and dynamic sentencing statistics. This is an essential tool for any member of the Bar working in, or interested in working in, criminal law, including in the fields of environmental, workplace or other regulatory offences.
The online format has been chosen to allow for attendance by members in the regions. Members already familiar with JIRS are also encouraged to attend to hear about the wide range of resources available on JIRS
Chaired by Damian Beaufils, Crown Prosecutor Chambers and joined by speaker Fiona Gayler, Senior Research Officer, Judicial Commission of NSW.
