COVID - 19 : Information for Attending Court

15/04/2020

The New South Wales Bar Association’s consolidated guide to COVID-19-related court arrangements has again been updated in terms of recent developments and includes:

• A High Court of Australia Protocol regarding Video Connection Hearings;

• A Microsoft Teams Virtual Hearing Practitioner’s Fact Sheet from the Supreme Court of NSW; and

• A Special Measures Information Note (SMIN-1 FCoA Appeals) from the Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia regarding the continued operation of the Appellate Division of the Family Court of Australia

Members are also reminded that the Federal Court of Australia's National Practitioners/Litigants Guide to Virtual Hearings And Microsoft Teams, which sets out the Court’s expectations of practitioners and litigants appearing in virtual proceedings, can be found on the Court’s website here.

Members are advised that, although the Bar Association is regularly updating the COVID-19 page of its website as information comes to hand, they should refer to the latest court resources directly as circumstances are changing quickly at this time. Do not make any assumptions regarding your case without first doing so. Links to the various court and tribunal pages are provided in the body of the guide.
