Five tickets left: Our Big Kitchen
As winter approaches, disadvantaged Australians everywhere experience dire conditions and the necessity for meal services heighten. The Wellbeing Committee are ready to help and in response are holding a team event in the Our Big Kitchen headquarters in Bondi on Sunday, 7 May 2023 at 9.00am.
Our Big Kitchen is a community run, non-denominational, industrial kitchen where meals are prepared for distribution to needy people across Sydney. The kitchen prepares meals to be sent to numerous NSW shelters, including Salvation Army, St Vincent’s De Paul, Lou’s Place, and Mary’s House. They rely on volunteers to sacrifice time and resources to assist in the preparation of meals. Last year, they made 120,000 meals that were distributed to disadvantaged Australians.
Members are welcome and encouraged to attend and to bring any family members, especially children aged ten and over. Only limited places remain. The Bar Association are subsidising the event and have covered half of the fee; therefore members are only required to pay a $45 fee per person.
