The Family Care and Adoption Committee will present a CPD session on Family Violence Awareness training for the legal profession tomorrow Thursday, 20 October 2022 at 5.00pm. Neil Jackson, Frederick Jordan Chambers, will lead the session.

Domestic violence refers to acts of violence that occur within intimate relationships and take place in domestic settings. It includes physical, sexual, emotional and psychological abuse. Family violence is a broader term that refers to violence between family members, as well as violence between intimate partners. This paper focuses on the issue of domestic violence and how it impacts the legal profession, not just in relation to contested litigation, such as in family law, but also within the lawyer's workforce.
