Papers to note: Review of Statutory Self-regulation of Migration Advice Profession

A discussion paper on standards in the migration advice sector was released today by the assistant minister for immigration and citizenship, the Hon Teresa Gambaro MP. The paper examines such issues as the regulatory framework, dual regulation of lawyer agents, professional development requirements for migration agents, and the Migration Agents Registration Authority's performance as an industry regulator.
