20/11/2007

On 16 November Magistrate Dorelle Pinch released the findings of a coronialinquest into the death in 1975 of journalist Brian Raymond Petersduring the Indonesian invasion of East Timor.Although themagistratehad jurisdiction toinquire only into the death of Peters, it was effectively an inquest into the deaths of the"Balibo Five". Further, the report says, its purpose was to "demonstrate that the truth is never too young to be told, nor too old".
