English barristers support wigs in civil and family cases

A survey conducted by the Bar Council of England and Walesï¿½has found that the majority of respondents back the retention of wigs in civil and family cases.ï¿½ï¿½The survey follows an announcement in July 2007ï¿½that judges sitting inï¿½civil and familyï¿½cases will wear a newly designed gown, but no wigs.
