Changes to military justice: Defence Legislation Amendment Bill 2008

The Australian Government has introduced the Defence Legislation Amendment Bill 2008. The principal object of the Bill, as stated in the explanatory memorandum, is�"to give effect to certain recommendations contained in the 2005 Senate report The Effectiveness of Australiaâs Military Justice System.
In his media release, the minister for defence science and personnel, Warren Snowdon, said the Bill "strikes the right balance between effective discipline and the rights of those individuals who are subjected to it". View the Bill >
