Policy and lawmaking: How is it done, and how to be involved?

Law Week 2008 will be held on 30 March - 5 April.�One of�the many events taking place across the state is a seminar on policy and lawmaking. Policy experts from the�NSW Attorney General's�Department will guide�attendees through the bureaucratic, legal and parliamentary aspects of law and policy making, and explain what works and what doesnât work when writing submissions to government.
The seminar will give attendees:
- a better understanding of the practicalities of the law making and legal policy process;
- strategies for participating in government decisions, including tips on how to maximise the effectiveness of submissions and hints on how to influence the way justice services are delivered to particular communities;and
- answers to questions about the legal and parliamentary âmazeâ of procedures.
