Amendments to the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules

The Uniform Rules Committee has approved amendments to the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules.�The amendments will:
- carry over into the UCPR, parts of Schedule J of the Supreme Court Rules 1970 and Parts 6, 24C, 24D, 24E, 24F and 39B of the District Court Rules 1973
- enable an electronic case management court to electronically sign and issue a document
- provide that information about certificates under s347 of the Legal Profession Act 2004 does not have to be included in documents relating to proceedings in class 1, 2 or 3 of the Land and Environment Courtâs jurisdiction
- clarify the rules in relation to referred questions of law and stated cases
- clarify that Part 37 does not apply to the payment of fines under the Fines Act 1996
- clarify the procedure for applying for a judgment creditorâs notice��
- clarify the rules in relation to discontinuance in the Court of Appeal
- update references to the Mental Health Act 2007 in schedule 8.
