New York Times introduces hot tubbing to the Americans

Rarely does the Australian legal system rate a mention in the mainstream US�media.�Recently, however,�The New York Times compared US and international procedures for presentation of testimony�from expert witnesses, and the�practice of 'hot tubbing' came in for a good deal of�attention:�
Australian judges have embraced hot tubbing. âYou can feel the release of the tension which normally infects the evidence-gathering process,â Justice Peter McClellan of the Land and Environmental Court of New South Wales said in a speech on the practice. âNot confined to answering the question of the advocates,â he added, experts âare able to more effectively respond to the views of the other expert or experts.â
