Transcripts from the recent ceremonial sittings of the High Court are now available. On Friday, 29 August 2008, a ceremonial sitting was held to farewell Chief Justice A M Gleeson AC.�On Monday, 1 September, the Hon Justice French was sworn in as the new chief justice of Australia. The president of the Australian Bar Association, Tom Bathurst QC, spoke at both occasions.
