Reinstate Racial Discrimination Act in NT, Law Council urges

The Law Council has welcomed a report which recommends that government actions affecting Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory must conform to the Racial Discrimination Act. Law Council President Ross Ray QC said, âThe Racial Discrimination Act must be reinstated in respect of all legislation governing the Intervention, and it must be made clear that all actions carried out under the Intervention are subject to racial discrimination laws.â View the Law Council's media release > View the report of the NT Emergency Response Review Board>
